Shopping experience on 5,000 square metres: Coop-Megastore opens in Biel
After a two-year renovation phase, the "Centre Bahnhof Biel-Bienne" in Switzerland celebrated its grand reopening on 28 November. A Coop-Megastore was also opened in the shopping centre - with shopfitting by umdasch The Store Makers.
The new Coop-Megastore in the Centre Bahnhof Biel-Bienne leaves nothing to be desired. On around 5,000 square metres, the converted store offers its customers a wide range of food and non-food products. From cheese specialities to fine wines, from oven-fresh bread and pastries to fish and meat - every product range is attractively presented in Coop's largest store format.
Largest project for umdasch The Store Makers in Switzerland
The Store Makers from umdasch were involved in the shopfitting of the converted Coop-Megastore: The Swiss team of shopfitting specialists was responsible for the planning and development of various special components. In addition, all shopfitting elements were produced by umdasch The Store Makers and subsequently installed in the store.
"With our many years of experience in shopfitting, we have already realised many different projects, and yet each one is unique in its own way - with individual requirements. The fact that we were able to realise our largest project to date in Switzerland for Coop makes us particularly happy," says Ulrich Rinner, Project Manager at the Swiss location.
A megastore with many highlights
The spacious Fruits & Snacks ("Frücht & Gmües") department, created by the umdasch Store Makers, offers a colourful selection and invites customers to enjoy a vitamin-rich diet. Wooden panelling and wooden elements with lettering on the third level between the shelves and the ceiling run through the entire store, creating a cosy atmosphere that invites customers to linger. Another eye-catching feature is the kiosk area. Framed by wooden elements, magazines, books, tobacco products and flowers are displayed.
Special stage for wine
Lovers of fine wines from all over the world will certainly get their money's worth in the wine department designed by umdasch The Store Makers in the new Coop-Megastore. A world of wine experience has been created here, giving consumers a good overview of the diverse range of wines on offer. Selected wines are also presented in the so-called "Wine Cave". The design of the presentation area and the special wine shelves were also realised by umdasch The Store Makers.
