First-class shopping experience at Frankfurt Airport: umdasch The Store Makers realises a Worldshop in the Lufthansa First Class Terminal for Miles & More

Press

The Worldshop in the Lufthansa First Class Terminal at Frankfurt Airport offers a unique shopping experience for First Class customers and HON Circle members. As a leading provider of premium brand products and exclusive luggage, the Worldshop sets new standards in travel retail. Working closely with Heinemann's travel retail experts, umdasch The Store Makers created a harmonious store design with digital touchpoints that invites customers not only to shop, but also to attend special events such as vernissages.

The Worldshop, which opened in April, is the first of its kind and offers an exclusive showroom for high-quality travel and lifestyle products thanks to variable spaces and digital elements. umdasch The Store Makers was able to demonstrate its extensive expertise in shopfitting in this project: From Concept and Design to Production and Installation of furniture, Lighting Design, Digital Solutions and General Contracting.

Store design creates variable use of space

Worldshop and Heinemann present an exclusive store concept with a feel-good character in a shared space. From a connecting metal structure in the centre of the store, the two brands develop individually with their designs and curated product ranges. With its slogan #inspiringyourworld, the Worldshop opens up into a world of travel and aviation experiences. The highly flexible store concept was created by the experienced Shop Consultants of umdasch The Store Makers. It includes upcycled furniture from the Worldshop portfolio as well as a custom-made furniture system made of high-quality materials developed specifically for the First Class Terminal.

The flexible store concept is characterised by its modularity: The shelves can be easily rearranged to adapt to different conditions. This is supported by a specially developed upright system that offers maximum flexibility.

The lighting in the new Worldshop uses the latest LED technology. Sustainability plays a key role, supported by the modularity of the technology.

Digital solutions add wow factor

The digital elements, designed and installed by the digital professionals at umdasch The Store Makers, create a multimedia experience in which the product world merges with animated content. Moving images and other content skilfully showcase the products and ensure a seamless, cross-channel shopping experience. Particularly impressive are the innovative LED cubes which, together with LED screens on the walls and ceiling, create a unique wow effect by playing synchronised content across multiple screens. The entire store shines with a new look every time.

“Customers can experience the Worldshop and Heinemann brands in an exclusive shopping experience in a flexible space that offers options for events, tastings and exclusive services,” summarises Eva Schipper, Shop Consult Manager at umdasch The Store Makers.
